PROJECT SUMMARY

(Project Hydro) is a mini hydro power plant that will harness the energy potential of the Munyamadzi River on the basis of a design flow rate of 8.82 cubic meters per second with a potential generation capacity of 12MW. The project also brings with it the following advantages:

  • Enhanced education and health service delivery through reliable power source;
  • An improved domestic economy through improved commercial activities will result in improved livelihoods of the local community, and
  • National economy via the excess power generated will be distributed to surrounding districts to mitigate power deficits for 13 million people country wide without access to electricity).
